Why does my Silverado make a ticking noise?
It makes the ticking while driving in the city and on the freeway. I can be cruising perfectly and hit a bump and the ticking is triggered. The ticking increases in speed with even a slight acceleration. I’m thinking it’s coming beneath the engine or under the driver side.
Why does the serpentine belt make a chipping noise?
This chipping sound will follow the engine RPM (engine speed). Inspect the belt for glazing which is a shinny condition inside the belt grooves. To check if this the problem spray a little WD40 on the belt while the engine is running if the noise goes away the serpentine belt needs to be replaced.
Why does my car make a chirping sound when the engine is running?

Once the noisy cylinders have been located, the head will have to come off next. This involves removing the intake, exhaust manifolds, rockers and stands, sensors and wiring, accessories, etc. Actually it isn’t that bad of a job to take one of these engines apart, and I always do this with the engine still in the truck.

What causes engine noise in a GM P0300?
Valve leakage on this engine generally causes a consistent engine misfire that may or may not be felt. Plus it most often occurs at idle or low RPM. In addition, valve leakage usually doesn’t cause engine noise. Conduct a Cylinder Leakage Test to detect excessive leakage.
