I’m currently in progress of a complete rebuild of my front suspension and having a difficult locating a suitable steering wheel position sensor for the one I broke a few months ago. It seems that the sensor in NNBS vehicles from 2007-2009 are different from the rest of silverados…etc.

Can a GM steering wheel sensor be replaced?

Easy replacement for most, saves money over dealer doing same replacement. You will need a scanner capable of reading ABS/Traction codes in order to clear the code from the system. Common failure on these GM vehicles which will cause a code and intermittent warning light on dash for the traction control system.

When I turn it off and back on, the warnings are gone again for another 10 minutes or so. And it is throwing code C0710, steering wheel position sensor. I took a look at the one under my dash that is failing and it has a 6 pin electrical connector.
