When does side detection system message come on?

At 40k miles I received the “service side detection system” message. Sure enough, two weeks later while driving down the tollway most of the electrical system went out, radio, turn signals, power locks & windows, etc. Then on the DIC I received messages to service TPMS, forward camera, and rear park assist.

Is there any DIY test for service side detection system?

I have the exact same problem as qbymarty (thread starter) with my 2015 LTZ. It appears that this side detection system is pretty crappy and not very tolerant of splashing water and snow, which is not uncommon in New England. Is there some DIY test that can be don to tell if it is the sensor (s) or the control module (s).

How to contact GMC Acadia service side detection system?

How to fix service side detection system ( sbza )?

If you are forced to come back, the tech gets more hours again. This can be solved by paying techs per hour worked, not book hours. It could also help to have the tech communicate directly with the customer, as there is a sense of pride or a sense of shame / failure for the job done (or not done well) Having service writers is stupid.

How to remove service side detection system sensor?

To get to the two corner mounted sensors you must remove the rear bumper cover first. Then unplug the module and slid it out of the bracket. According to the Service Manual the new module must be synchronized with the BCM. Thanks for the reply. I can rather easily reach the sensors simply by reaching up from below, without removing the bumper.
