When to replace clutch on 2005 Legacy GT?
I (finally) replaced the clutch in my 2005 Legacy GT this weekend, and took some pictures to help those who attempt this job. I used the “move the engine forward” method to replace the clutch for several reasons.

Can a broken PTO clutch wire be repaired?
The one wire still attached did not easily come out. It appears the other wire is broken off flush with the surface, and there is little chance of getting a connector cleared out for a new wire. I see no way to make a repair of the wire. Attached are the diagrams for the clutch, and the wiring harness.

If jammed forward it”s likely the tob problem mentioned before. The pedal staying on the floor, 95% of the time is the slave is simply worn out or there is air in the clutch line. Bleed it! If it wont bleed and still have the problem then pump it 100 times top to bottom. Then re-bleed it. Remember 03 has the valve on the slave.
Why is my clutch fork stuck on the floor?
The clutch fork will have considerable play. There is a factory spring there to keep it in check. If the fork goes to far it could be the tob is pulled out of the pressure plate or the clip near the pressure plate is broken. If it stays on the floor and wont come back. Check under the tmic to make sure it’s not jammed fully forward.
Where is the engine connector on a legacy?
The main engine connector on my Legacy is on the passenger side, near the firewall and above the turbo. After you have disconnected this and the other nearby connectors, you’ll have to unbolt the bracket and unsnap some of the connectors from the bracket to free the parts attached to the engine from the chassis.
