Why does my Bimmer not Rev over 4000 rpm?
This would cause your stated problem. Theoretically there isn’t much of a need to go over 4000 rpm unless you are racing with the car but I think most bimmer owners can understand where you are coming from:) As far as the 1993, I’d check all your intake piping and vacuum lines and make sure there are no leaks whatsoever.
