Why do my Allison auto lights not come on in reverse?

Why do my Allison auto lights not come on in reverse?

I had the dealer look at our 2012 model M2 with Allison auto because the lights wouldn’t come on in reverse. Turns out, that if the truck is NOT RUNNING, with key on, the lights come on for only 10 or 15 seconds (not quite long enough for you to walk to the back of the truck) and then the BCM (body computer module) will turn them off.

Where is reverse light not activated put in reverse gear?

I would start with tracing the wiring from the bulb back to the switch which will be located on the top of the transmission if the wiring is good it is probably the switch. The best way to check both would be with a good volt ohm meter, the switch will be open when not in reverse and closed when in reverse that’s where I would start anyway

How does an Allison 545 back up light switch work?

The OEM switch on mine have a pigtail made right to the switch. What I do is cut the pigtail from the old one and install female spade connectors to the cut ends and plug them into the above NAPA part number. gotcha! 🙂 that makes sense. This page was generated in 0.11 seconds.

How much does an Allison reverse light switch cost?

It’s 8.70 Anyway, it’s P/N- OP6624 granted it’s not $8.70, but I only pay $28.35 for an Allison Reverse Light Switch pt # 416372C1 from International (it has gone up severely the last couple of years.) over $100? I’d be talking to my sales rep about a different pricing scale… and in the meantime, I’m going to check out Napa, lol

Why are my Allison transmission connections so bad?

At least until the wiring problems began a year or two later. Owning an electronic transmission meant keeping the connections clean and away from moisture. The first problem was the connector at the transmission was exposed to the rear axle kicking up water and snow causing lots of codes and shifting problems.

Where to wire reverse lights from in an Allison MD3060?

It has a single harness that enters, a VSS at the tailshaft and that is it. There is a digital control on the dash which communicates with the ECU behind the seat and a harness from there to the trans. There are no mechanical linkages or accessable hyd ports.

What to do if your Allison Transmission key pad does not work?

Before defaulting to having it serviced, check all your connections, not just at the battery. There are at least a couple of plugs that connect directly to the tranny and at least one, maybe two, connecting to the ECU directly under the shift pad. Spray them with WD-40, plug and unplug a few times and try it again.
