Why does my GMC 99 suburban not start?
I have a 99 suburban that will occationally not start due to the factory security system. The dealership said they’ll need to replace the ignition switch, key, and a couple of other things (not the security module though according to the computer) to make it work.
Is there a security light on a Chevy Suburban 1500?
I have a 1999 chevy suburban 1500 and it was doing the whole cut off the fuel trick. The trick to it is when you put the key in only turn on to auxilary lights on the dash, the security light should be on but NOT blinking. Should start up with no problem.
Where is the factory security bypass on a GMC Truck?
Got it home, found loose connection at the three wires, above key. Took each wire, out of plastic block, slightly pinch the metal strip, closer, and fixed problem. Did you find the recommended reading relevant to this discussion?

How do I disable the car alarm on my Suburban?
The keyless entry system of the Suburban automatically disables the car alarm when you unlock the door. To manually disable the car alarm in your Suburban, you must disconnect a few wires inside of the driver’s side door. Open the power window console on the driver’s side door using your screwdriver to separate the console away from the door.

On my 99 silverado, I had the blinking security light, went into cut off mode. There is a procedure, too restart. key to on 10 min, off 1 min, 10 min on, off 1 min, on 10 min, then off. Got it home, found loose connection at the three wires, above key.
