Will one bad glow plugs cause no start?
If one glow plug fails, the engine may still start but it might run roughly initially. That’s because it will take a bit of time for the cylinder without the functioning glow plug to get up to temperature and work properly. If that’s happening it’s telling you that the glow plugs need replacing.

Why does the glow plug light on the dash quit lighting?
On the water manifold/ t/stat housing is a temp sender this is for the ECM it could be bad and it is telling the ECM the engine is hot and does not need the glow heat. Easy test unplug it and try starting it, unpluged the ECM thinks it is stone cold and it will glow for a long time.

Now the glow plugs will need to pull about 180-190 amps when cold. This is total for all eight glow plugs. Yes that is alot of amps so be sure your battery and charging system is up to par. When your truck losses one glow plug it will become harder and harder to start. It is only a matter of time till all the glow plugs fail.
