I have had a lot of problems recently with my 2007 GMC Sierra SLT Crew Cab 4×4. The headlights and dome lights will flash when I hit my brake. Radio will make a pop sound when brake is hit. Doors will unlock and lock on their own while driving. Service stabilitrak and traction control warnings will come on.

It has been driving me nuts that when I would open the door on my GMC Sierra that the dome light would not turn on. It was simply the flat switch above the dome light knob left of the steering wheel. Like several others here, I had no idea it was a switch until I read this post.

What’s happening is all 4 doors will NOT unlock using the fob, passenger button or driver button. The only way to get into the truck is using the actual key. The power locks will lock just fine. When I press any unlock button, there is a clicking near/in the interior fuse box. There is no power going to any of the locks when I try to unlock them.

When did my Silverado Sierra power door lock malfunction?
I’m no mechanic, but I had this happen in my 2009 before I traded it. I believe it was what they called the “actuator”. That’s not too bad. I checked the warranty I bought and it covers the power door locks but I have to pay a $200 deductible. Don’t know if I’ll go the warranty route as I have a retired napa employee discount.
