The Cat C7 with 350HP produces a peak torque of 950 ft lbs in the Phaeton. The C7 with 330HP produces 860 ft lbs……. According to the CAT site the C-7 can produce up to 360hp and 925 ft lbs of torque. Our 350 Cat functions just fine.

Very fortunate. Valve breakage is a very common problem on the C7 and its forerunner the 3126B. However the mileage is usually in excess of 200,000. I have know several that have had the same problem. Almost always the very last valve on the number 6 cylinder. Glad you had warranty because CAT won’t help.

I can’t help but laugh. Most everyone is agreeing the 350 hp is fine for a 30,000 lb MH———–but how many have you have also posted that a gas engine (now 340 or 362 hp depending on whether it’s a Workhorse of Ford) won’t handle a 38′ MH at 26,000 lbs???

This applies to all ages (including brand new) of motorhomes and boats with every brand of engine. Also, when checking the oil level with the dipstick it is safest to do it in the morning after the oil has had all night to flow back to the pan. Do not add oil until the level reaches the ADD mark.
