How to get the VGT code for Cummins ISX?
VGT code HELP !!! Discussion in ‘ International Forum ‘ started by jameson1985, Jan 24, 2015 . 2008 International prostar cummins isx 1 200 000 km , started getting the VGT Code. Took it to my local trusted Mechanic , he replaced the actuator.
How to diagnose a VGT code problem?
To properly diagnose this, once the actuator is taken off the actuator arm on the turbo has to freely move or sweep by hand to ensure nothing is jammed inside the turbo. There is also a starting point the actuator arm has to be in during the calibration process when the actuator is installed.
What is the VGT code on a turbo?
Dealer hooked up and tried to calibrate but it wouldn’t and codes still came up and of course new ones came on. VGT code , aftertreatement injector , crankcase code , DPF code. Now dealer says turbo needs to be changed…could this be ?

If the teeth on the old actuator were worn the actuator needs replaced but the real problem is in the turbo VGT rail, over time the rail will get carbon in it and develop hard spots and take the actuator out.
