You will need to reset your clock and window pinch protection (run your windows all the way down and all the way up, holding at each stop point) You may get lights for the steering angle sensor but this should go away after driving around a left and a right corner. gomi_otaku, VW Technician
How to disconnect the electric power steering assist?
Disconnect the battery cables negative first, then hold the cables together without touching the battery- this will discharge any stored electrical capacitors. Then reconnect the cables postive first. You will need to reset your clock and window pinch protection (run your windows all the way down and all the way up, holding at each stop point)
