What does the low fluid warning light mean?
While this light doesn’t indicate a safety issue, neglecting the warning will eventually prevent you from starting the engine. When you see the low fluid warning, you will still have a good amount of time before a refill is absolutely necessary. Don’t forget about it, or you could run out of fluid and potentially be stranded.

If you don’t fill the tank, it will eventually turn red which is the no restart warning. When this light is red, you will not be able to restart the engine once you have turned it off. If this happens while driving, take your car to get the tank filled immediately, otherwise you won’t be able to start the engine again.

Why is Def gauge almost empty after filling up?
They reset by removing the battery cables and reattaching, topped off the DEF tank and think they may have reset the computer and it now seems to work great, DEF shows full… Click to expand… Thanks for the update, jetpilotchris1.
Is the Ford PowerStroke empty but not empty?
DEF says it’s empty but it’s not.. Picked up my truck earlier this week after they replaced the fuel system… and note came up to fill def, but it was almost full before it went in the shop. I added a gallon yesterday but it didn’t reset the deal and I’m running out of miles.
