Some people I have talked to say that these trucks are relics and DO NOT buy one……the guy I talked to owns a 2005 crew 4×4 dump work truck and his list of failures in 70k incuded: transmission, head gaskets, instrument panel, alternator, battery charge isolator, 2 radiators, and it is currently in the shop for an injector problem.
What’s the difference between a C4500 and C5500?
Brakes are far superior, turns tighter, more interior room and I can legally haul my rock buggy on the flatbed AND pull the toyhauler with the bikes in it. That’s why I went with a 5500 instead of a 4500. That extra 2000 lbs. of rated capacity made the difference.
