In my experience, the rear wiper will not have any influence on whether a car will pass or fail its MOT. The front wipers/washers obviously need to be in good working order to get through.

They are listed as powering the rear window washer. Now go to the fuse block under the rear seat on the driver’s side. Check fuse #9, it’s listed as powering the wiper motor. But since the wiper and the washer are powered by separate circuits, it puzzles me how they both quit at the same time….that makes me think a wire harness came unplugged.

Front and rear pumps are located on the front of the windshield wiper fluid reservoir. If you do hear the pump, go lift the liftgate and look for water at the latch. I myself have had the tube pop off the back of the nozzle, it’s too short, which will spray water inside the gate. I just lengthened the tube, done deal.

Also note that the rear wiper/washer control has a “lock out” feature…that’s what I call it. Each time you start up the engine, you have to turn the wiper/washer off and back to on to reset it’s function. GM doesn’t want you to start the engine, and have the wiper come on unintentionally while frozen to the rear window, and burn out the motor.

No – neither the washer or wiper on the rear of our T4 camper work (or indeed have ever worked since we bought it 5 years ago, so it’s been through at least four MOTs). There’s no point in fixing it as the rock’n’roll bed means that visibility out of the back is approximately zero anyway. So, that’s a no then?
