What to do if your MP8 looses fuel?
The inlet of the davco filter has a check valve remove and inspect, make sure the spring and check ball are not damaged or blocked open with debris. I have completely bypassed the davco and it still drains back. I also installed another check valve to ensure the davco wasn’t leaking back. Thanks.
What are the problems with the MP8 motors with Def?
What major problems are there with the new MP8 motors with DEF? Any ideas of what the best HP would be for good pulling power on hills and good fuel mileage? Gonna get the Allison auto and half the year pulling a shorty dump at 73,280 and the other half pulling a tank or a long dump at 80,000.
How much mileage does A MP8 engine get?
For mixed on-off road, a 415C or 445C should do well. You wont get maximum mileage with an Allison, but thats your call based on the trade offs with the job you do daily. I run a 2010 with mp8 and 13spd auto shift. Pull 48′ skate board spread axle.

What causes poor fuel mileage in a Mack truck?
A sticky VGT turbo, a bad boost pressure sensor or a problem with your EGR valve/ flow sensor can cause poor MPG. My buddies 505 plus CHU with 3.21 gears more or less idles down the interstate at 1250 rpm.

The MP 8 engines have the power to to run the high gears now. A logging customs here has a 505E CHU with low rears gears for use in the mud and woods. The paper mill here closed a year ago so now hes hauling different products and mostly interstate.
