When does my Tahoe shift to 4WD by itself?

4 auto can be selected at any time (even in motion) and as mentioned above the truck will engage all wheels when needed….4 auto is meant especially for rainy conditions.
Why is my 4WD light not working on my Chevy Tahoe?

Where can I get my Chevy Tahoe 4WD serviced?
Went to switch it to 4WD for the first time I was going off road, and the red light came on and the dash board said service 4WD…any ideas or what the prob may be or cost of getting it serviced or where i can get it serviced…I live in charlotte if there are any users in the area Had “service 4wheel drive” warning coming on as well.
