Why does my durmax truck say range shift inhibited?
I am hoping someone will have an answer to what is going on with my 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Durmax truck. When I go to shift into gear (reverse or drive) on the dash a message appears “Range Shift Inhibited,” and the truck does not engage into gear. I have to put it back into park and shift into gear again.
Why does my GMC Yukon not shift hard?
Goes from first to second with the rpms jumping up between each gear shift. If i feather the accelerator it doesnt shift as hard. If i get on the throttle it messes up in most gears. Please tell me my transmission doesnt need to be replaced. You have a bad TCM.
Why is my Duramax range shift not working?
Came home and washed the truck. after checking the NSBU switch check the linkage. NSBU connecters are very well sealed form the factory. they have silcone inside the connector. they are very hard to disconnect. you could have bend or kinked shift linkage.
Are there shift inhibits based on engine speed?
There are shift inhibits that are based on input speed (ie – if you’re over XXX rpm engine speed and drop to into gear, you’ll be inhibited). Output speed should not inhibit your shift to range – you could be going 100, and shifting to range should put you into the correct range for that output speed.

Why is my range shift display truck not moving?
2003 duramax, when clod it will start drive for 30min to hour and shut it off will not start untill it cooled off for about 2-3 hours at the shop they replaced the fule pump with 2006 modle for $150,the pump for the 2003 was $650 is this right,is this the same pump??
