Why does my Silverado blow cold air and then hot air?
I have a 2004 Silverado 4×4 with duel temp controls. It recently starting blowing hot air when the a/c is on but it only blows hot air on the drivers side. The passenger side still blows cold. The only way to get it to blow cold again is to shut it off, wait a few minutes and start it back. It doesn’t do it every day.
What to do if your GMC Envoy A / C blows?
Pull the fuse for the A/C, using the fuse pullers in the fuse panel. Check the metal strip inside the fuse. If it is blown, replace the fuse with a new fuse of the same amperage. Start the Envoy’s engine and turn the fan speed to the highest setting.
Where is the hot air vent on a GMC Truck?
It’s underneath the passenger dash, where your feet go. Take off that black kick panel thing, and it will be right there. The passenger side does whatever the HVAC panel tells it to, but yes, when both sides are set to cold, the driver’s side is HOT, the passenger’s side is COLD. Anyone have a write up on this ?

Also truck is a 2003 silverado 5.3L im actualy having the exact same problem, mine has plenty freon but still when it blows its not cold. its not hot but not cold maby blowing 75 degrees? idk but i know it sucks. Yes it does!

My 2000 Silverado RCLB was getting cold initially then dwindling down to just ambient air temps. Checked the running pressure and it was to the low side of normal. Sometimes it would do this and other times it would not, Shut the AC off for a few minutes and then turn it back on and BAM cold air again…

Also truck is a 2003 silverado 5.3L Click to expand… There is a safety precaution to keep from burning up the pump/compressor when the freon is low, the relay won’t lock over but after you read it you have to jump the relay with a piece of wire to kickstart it and from there on it’s fine as long as it keeps pressure and there is no leak.
