Can a PCM turn off a low coolant light?

Yes. If the light goes out then the switch is bad. If not then you could possibly have an open wire and the pcm isn’t seeing that the switch is closed thus keeping the light on. A multi-meter can tell you if a wire is open. Yes.

What to do if your coolant light is not working?

You’ll need to find the wires at the PCM that come from the switch. Then with a multi-meter set on ohms you put one lead on the wire at the PCM and the other lead on the wire at the switch. If it reads OL then the wire is open. If you get some numbers then its not open. If its open then just run a new wire from the pcm to the switch.
