Why is the remote on my Subaru Outback not working?
All of the sudden the remote to my 2009 Subaru Outback stopped working. The car doesn’t respond at all. I mentioned this when I had the car in for service and they tested my remote.
Do you have to program a Subaru remote?

What to do if your keyless remote does not work?
If it worked, the interior car lights will go on and off. You may even hear the horn beep. If this did not work, then use the key to unlock the car. Get in it and drive it. Sometimes just having the key in it and driving it will reset the alarm. This will allow your keyless remote to start working.

Press and release any button on the remote. Horn will sound 2 times to indicate that the remote has been programed. If you have more remotes, repeat steps 8 to 10 (up to 4 remotes could be programed). Remove the key from ignition.
