Are 16-inch tires cheaper than 17?
16″ tires are cheaper to buy…for instance on discounttire.com bfg at’s are $170 each for a 16″ wheel and $198 each for a 17″ wheel. 17″ wheels look a little nicer being a little bigger.

I know my 17s are close to the calipers now, I definitely couldn’t see a 16in wheel fitting. 9306 is correct not all 99-07’s have 16″ wheels, the larger calipers came about on the later year models. Thus the 17″ wheels for them and 16’s won’t fit. That’s odd thoo! Not unless i have calipers from an earlier ’05 model.

Can you put 16 inch rims on a 06 truck?
I am 100 positive i can take a 20″ rim from a ’06 and put it on my ’01 and take my 16″ rims and put them on a ’06 and or take 16″ and put them on any truck in between. ^^ I believe they put bigger brakes on them around 05 or so.

Can you change wheels from 17 to 18?
Folks, wanting to switch from OEM 265/70-17 to OEM 265/65-18 tires/wheel combination. The local GM dealer is telling me the computer has to be re-calibrated or the truck will not shift/run right. Unfortunately, since my truck did not come with 18 inch tires due to the 6.2L engine/tow package, the dealership will not re-calibrate the computer.
