How to start a truck with no crank?
He is right turn the ignition switch on and start it by a solenoid spark up…you can locate it off the starter follow the wires up….if it cranks then start in you battery box twisting and tighting every wire and find you lose ground… sounds silly but push the key hard into the ignition and then turn.

What does jumping the solenoid do on a Freightliner Cascadia?
It just allows the engine starter to crank over but for the engine to run the engine ECM needs power and ground, fuel, engine RPM and speed signal, along with the air/fuel/ compression/etc basics. Jumping the solenoid just bypasses a faulty solenoid. Test for power to the small S terminal at the solenoid while in the cranking position.
