How to make a link on a lower KLR650?

To make a link, jack the bike up until the back tire is just touching the ground. Remove the links, lower the jack 2 or 3 inches, which ever you want, then measure the distance from center to center for the mounting link holes on the bike. Make the link to suit. Have at it… At 28″ inseam, one inch may not be much.

How big are the forks on a KLR650?

I have a 2007 KLR650 and got Koubalinks to lower the back 2 inches and raised the front forks a little over 1 1/4 inches. I can touch on two sides now…more than toe tips but not quite balls of my feet unless the bike is packed with gear. Sure makes stopping in town on crowned roads less problematic.

Is the rear suspension lower on a KLR?

All my KLR’s have been lowered this distance accompanied by a shortened sidestand. A lowered seat has been installed as well for additional help in reaching the ground at stops. Since the lowering links elongate the shock spring, the rear suspension will be softer than the stock setup.

Can you lower a KLR by 1 inch?

When lowering a klr 1 inch can you tell a lot of difference in the height of the seat being lowered. It is hard to for me to think that just 1 inch will make a big difference. Anyone done this and did you see an improvement. I will lower the front forks 1 inch also and the kickstand if I go this route.
