Lmm oil pressure and trans temp are dead on, the fuel gauge reads empty with 7gals left, and the eng temp gauge reads 210 when it’s really 185. Gm got half of them right..now all they need is a boost and egt gauge from the factory. The 2005 Duramax is notorious for bad wiring connection on the 2 large engine plugs on the driver side by the battery.

The Dodge gauge is more like an idiot light. Itll be in the middle until you have no oil pressure then it’ll drop to zero. Think about it, its a pump that changes rpm with the engine, of course pressure will fluctuate. It does with all engines. Its just a matter of how accurate the stock gauge is.

At 2000 RPM warm engine it’s a shade under 60psi. If I pull a trailer up a hill in the hot summer (So Cal coming out of El Centro towards San Diego for example) with the cruise on, it will stay at 2K RPM but the oil pressure drops down to +/- 45 and returns to almost 60 on the down hills.

Check the voltage to the gauge it should be a steady 12-13.5 volts. — A oil pressure gauge in actually a voltage gauge with a different face. 12 volts on the supply side and the sending unit actually varies the resistance to ground.

I’m having the exact same issue. 07 gmc 2500hd 6.0 eng. Oil pump was replaced 4 months ago. It happens when I drive down one particular hint in the same location. My mechanic picked up a kit of some kind and installed a manual guage along with keeping original operating.
