Do you have to use Mesa Boogie tubes?
You don´t neccessarily have to use Mesa tubes. There are other quality brands offering matched pairs.
Does Mesa Boogie make their own tubes?
MESA/Boogie does not manufacture tubes. We get our tubes from those same sources that are available to other distributors.
How long do Mesa tubes last?

Are Mesa Boogie tubes any good?
Compared to the Electro-harmonix 12AX7EH tubes that came in the head from the factory, the Mesa tubes give you better mid’s and high’s. Low end is very solid, and I could not detect any change in tone. The Mesa tubes are high gain, even more than the stock tubes.

How do you diagnose a tube amp?
If you are hearing noise and/or crackling, you can rule out (or in) a power tube with a simple test. Gently tap on the power tubes, one at a time. They should not make noise. If noise changes with the tapping, you may have a failing power tube.
What do bad tubes sound like?
If noise, you will hear hiss, crackling, popping or similar issues. If you hear squeal, hum or feedback, it is typically a microphonic tube. Noise from microphonic tubes will typically increase with a volume increase.
Is Mesa Boogie worth the money?
mesas are hand wired in the u.s. which for a lot of people is a big deal thats worth paying for. also they’re incredibly reliable, which is a plus because most people that are buying a mesa boogie are going to be hauling it and playing at different places all the time.
