Turn on the ignition (not the engine). Hold down the foot brake and accelerator (all the way down) for twenty seconds. then remove your feet from the pedals. It should now be ok. I do this on my car as I do my own servicing. But it never coincides with when I service it, so it always comes on at some point between services.
