Our former mechanic (former for a reason) told us it was leaking oil from the cam seal but that is was probably better just to let it continue to slowly leak and add oil every few months. It wasn’t a very big leak.

I purchased the VVT/Spool valve gaskets from Ebay, because Honda doesn’t offer them, replaced and resolved the leak. I then cleaned the entire area good to remove as much oil as possible. 3 months now and so for so good. Regarding alternators, the only one to consider getting is a Denso remanufactured unit.

Why is the VC gasket on my Honda Odyssey leaking?
The van has been leaking ever since but it appeared to be coming from a different location. I began to think that I didn’t do such a good job on said installation. Upon further inspection, (I took it to a mechanic) I was told that both VC gaskets need to be replaced along with the plenum gasket.
