Why does the rear hatch on my Fiat 500 not lock?
Rear hatch won’t unlock, doors won’t lock when using key fob. I press the lock (middle) button and then open the door and alarm goes off. Evic had a flashing yellow lock icon for a few minutes, then gone. Any ideas?

Why does my Micu not unlock the back hatch?

What to do when rear hatch on Jeep Liberty won’t open?
Remove the two bolts that secure the latch to the outside of the door hatch with a wrench and pull the broke latch free from the door. Place the new latch inside the door and secure it using the two bolts and the wrench. Push the actuator arm into the side of the door latch and secure it by replacing the C-clip.

You will be able to then see where the striker fits up into the latch and then the little arm comes around the striker to latch the two together. If you get the latch unlatched it should latch. Good luck. It’s possible you closed the gate latch while you were wiping down the gate painted areas.
I’ll start by checking for voltage at the mechanism. Checked for voltage at the connector at the hatch lock and there was nothing. Opened up the rubber boot (passenger side) and found a broken wire. Spliced and taped wire and all tested ok.
