Your 2012 GMC Sierra is not equipped with a factory brake controller port for a simple plug-in installation, but all the necessary wires are indeed already run to beneath the dash so that it is just a matter of connecting the 4 wires from the brake controller to the factory wires on the truck.

There is a set of blunt cut wires under the dash that you need to connect to the controller. Then you need to hook up the wire that in under the master cylinder to the fuse block for trailer 12V, and the wire between the fender and the fuse block for the controller power. I can post instructions if you need them.
