Why does my Mk4 Golf keep stalling?
My car keeps stalling / misfiring. This could be caused by a faulty MAF sensor (again), temperature sender, relay 109 (diesels only), dirty throttle body, faulty coilpacks (petrol) or dirty contacts on the ignition amplifier. Relay 109 – the sure-fire sign is when you try to start the car, the glowplug lamp stays out.
Why does my daughter’s VW Golf not start?
My daughter’s 2003 Mk4 VW Golf wouldn’t start all of a sudden, after performing flawlessly for 2 years after purchasing it used with 230,000 kms on it. In the mk4 TDI there are 2 pedal sensors (g79 and g185 sensors which are potentiometers), if one fails you should get an error code, if both fail the ECU will limit engine RPM to 1200.
