The wipers run at high speed until you release the lever. The washers spray until you release the lever. The wipers run at low speed, then complete one more sweep after you release the lever. Rotate the switch clockwise to turn the rear window wiper ON.

GM doesn’t want you to start the engine, and have the wiper come on unintentionally while frozen to the rear window, and burn out the motor. So reset it by turning it Off then On to reset it. Tell me if that works. 12 people found this helpful.

Also note that the rear wiper/washer control has a “lock out” feature…that’s what I call it.
