What kind of oil does a GMC Envoy use?

The 4.2 L engine uses 7 qts. of SAE 5w30, and the 5.3 L uses 6.1 qts. of the same oil. The levels include a filter change. Higher mileage engines should use an oil additive to recondition the seals inside your engine. Subtract the size of the additive from the recommended amounts of oil.

What’s the name of the new GMC Envoy?

The new Envoy was offered in two different body styles: a standard five-passenger version and an extended seven-passenger trim, which also provided a more spacious cargo area. In 2005 the deluxe Denali version was added to the lineup, featuring upgraded and refined interior as well as some distinctive detail cues.

How do you fill a GMC Envoy case?

Fill the case until the level of fluid is flush with the bottom of the plug hole. Use an L-shaped Allen wrench to measure the level when filling by sticking the short end of the Allen wrench into the hole. A little fluid should be present on the tip of the Allen wrench when the case is full.

Is the front diff fluid the same as the rear?

Front is an open differential, rear is a posi-traction, or limited slip differential… I believe GL-100 has some additive in it already (and is fine for both), so mine (AWD) got some in the front… I wonder why they would only put an adative in the rear only?
