Very disappointed right now, particularly since this issue has been recurring on a number of GMC vehicles for at least 5 years. have a 2017 Acadia limited. Side sensor has failed now, three times, going back to shop on Saturday.
How much does it cost to replace a GMC side detection system?
I took the vehicle into my dealership and waited four hours only to be told that this was a “nationwide” problem and the part was unavailable and on back order. I was also told that it would cost $800 to replace if/when the part was available.

I’ve had 2013 Suburban, 2016 Yukon Denali and now a 2019 Yukon Denali – never experienced this issue. Good luck with any class action resolution. I own a 2016 GMC Yukon Denali. I have a message upon start up that indicates “Service Side Detection System.”

You would be better off working with GM (dealer or region rep) than getting “legal” involved. If your car is still under warranty have them fix the “Service Side Detection System” error. I’ve had 2013 Suburban, 2016 Yukon Denali and now a 2019 Yukon Denali – never experienced this issue.
