Is there a power lock on the rear hatch?
My rear hatch is about a 50/50 shot on locking. Been going on for about 8 months now. It doesn’t make any difference locking the car by using they key fob, the touch sensors, or the inside door lock/unlock buttons- either way you do it, still same 50/50 shot of it locking. Has spent many of many days at the dealership.
What to do if power door lock does not work?
Put the key in the lock to unlock the door and the key turn 360. Will not not unlock the door. Have to unlock from the inside once get in from the other side. Have to pull up the door lock.

Unfortunately there is no change, it still doesn’t open or lock/unlock. I can tell there is some electrical signal being passed since the car knows when the latch has been manually moved into lock or unlock states (5 beeps when using power locks to indicate unlocked, single beep after manually moving lock). Why does the rear hatch on my 07 Outback not lock?
All the other doors lock on my 07 outback but the rear hatch does not with either the remote or switch on drivers door. Any suggestions? There’s a number of possible problems. It could be mechanical, i.e. the locking mechanism in the latch is broken or it could be electrical, i.e. the solenoid isn’t getting the electrical signal to lock and unlock.

No the only way the rear opens is from the inside using the hand lever. The button on the door and the remote on the key chain won’t open the hatch. So I thinking it’s the motor or sensor.

Disconnected the connectors from the rear hatch lock actuator and from the rear hatch switch. With a meter verified that pin #1 of the switch connect reads to ground, and that pin #1 of the actuator connector reads to ground. Measured 11.1 volts at pin #2 of the rear hatch switch.

If I’m at the back of the car I do not hear any actuator effort at all. It does latch at least, so it won’t fly open during sudden acceleration and dump my groceries out. If I lock the car with the remote and open the hatch the car doesn’t care (it should sound the alarm).
