What was the a / C problem on my 1998 Silverado?
One day last year, I started my 1998 C-1500 350 2WD, and surprise – the a/c blew hot air. I said a bad word. I only use the truck to go to the lumber yard, so I just let it be – until today, when it was 98F and I got stuck in a 10-mile traffic jam (I said many bad words).
Is the a / C clutch on or off on a 1998 Silverado Sierra?
Dashboard switches appear normal, but a/c clutch does not engage. (Is this properly called a “cycling switch”?) Do not know whether the fan switch was on or off when tested. Not sure what the function of the relay is – perhaps it closes when the fan switch is on? Will check tomorrow morning.

Why is the reverse clutch not working on my 4L60E?
If the pan looks good, and the fluid looks clean, than it’s likely not going to be the low reverse clutch causing the problem. Valve Body Issues- A bad valve body can make the reverse gear not work in the 4L60E. If the valve body ends up warped, or if the gasket fails, it’s entirely possible that the gear won’t engage.
