What are the RPMs of a Silverado truck?

Reasoning is emissions related and the truck will automatically run it (choak it) @ ~1K +/- cold until enough heat has been generated then drop it down. But as wisely suggested above, good fuel additives can be really helpful. I’ll add chevron’s techron to the list.

As for the 2010 Silverado in this post, that tranny actually failed. IT was slipping 200-1000 rpm at the end, getting to 200-250 temp in normal driving. One rebuild and 2 leaks later I traded her off for a 2014. Couldn’t have made a better decision.

Engine bucks only between 1800 and 2000 rpm – very strange problem – Maintenance/Repairs – Car Talk Community 2006 Ford Escape XLT 3.0L DOHC – starts and idles fine. good power upto about 1800 rpm and then again above about 2100 rpm. Problem only exhibits under load (going up hill).
