Rotate rocker adjusting screw anti-clockwise adjusting screw locknut to 16 Nm (12 lbf.ft) . 3. > 4. Fit new gasket, fit camshaft cover to camshaft Nm (7 lbf.ft).

Why are tappets not set in discoii Td5 motor-discovery?
A friend, who is a diesel mechanic, had a look and found that the inlet valve was not closing properly on one of the cylinders. He proceeded to slacken off all the tappets by 1/2 a turn and the engine ran fine and has been ever since.
