What is clutch pivot?
ACS stocks a range of clutch pivot balls for passenger cars. The Pivot ball allows the fork to engage and disengage the bearing from the clutch. Often excessive wear or lack of lubrication will require the pivot ball to be replaced.
Why is the clutch fork pivot ball stuck?
Transmission would not disengage. Took the transmission out and found that the pivot ball had pushed through the clutch fork. Both parts are worn, so pulled out the clutch fork and pivot ball (it slid out when we pried on the fork…. since the pivot ball is mushroom shaped, it was “stuck” and pulled the pivot ball stud out with it).

What’s the purpose of an adjustable pivot ball?
The purpose of the adjustable pivot ball is so you can get the throwout bearing away from the pressure plate. There needs to be about 1/4″ play between them. The linkage rod adjusts where the clutch engagement is at. I like having the clutch start to release about two inches from the floor.
