What oil goes in a 2004 GMC Envoy?
The 2004 GMC Envoy came standard with A4. 2L 6-cylinder engine across all trim levels. This engine will need to use fully synthetic 5W-30 motor oil. The motor oil capacity will be 7 US quarts when the filter is included.
Is there an issue with the envoy’s rough idle?
No Codes Having an issue with a rough idle condition, goes away at about 700 rpm. Accelerates fine and top end is fine. Just a pronounced misfire at about 500 rpm. Cleaned TB, run BG44k through tank. Cleaned Camshaft actuator solenoid. Was clean even after 200k, first time I’ve pulled it. Pulled plugs, look fine.
Why does my envoy have a gasoline smell?
Traced the gasoline smell to a leaking FPR, gasoline smell fixed but rough idle continues. I admit I didn’t check the intake bolts behind the little hose, but none of the other bolts were loose and I sprayed some starter fluid around that area with no change in rpm.
Is the top end of the envoy OK?

Only use AC mounts, the aftermarket is very hit or miss, biased to miss, on damping the 10 Hz frequency at idle. He did say he replaced the mounts with OEM. Need GMT360/370 Service Manuals?
Why does my GMC Envoy stall in traffic?
I have a 2004 GMC Envoy and came onto the problem of the car stalling when stopped in traffic while in gear. This suddenly happen to my vehicle after I had to changed the battery, although this didnt occur to me until after I solved my problems.
Why does my envoy idle at 600 rpm?
These motors idle at 600 RPM give or take and a worn motor mount will produce a felt vibration at idle that goes away just above idle.
