My question is what is Normal oil pressure I have the 4.8 motor when motor is at normal operating temp ( 210 ) and while sitting at a light my pressure drops to between 25 28 pounds IS THIS NORMAL . While driving at 40 MPH the pressure is 40 pounds is this normal at 65 MPH it is around 44.

My 5.3 is normally at 40-41 psi at idle. It was low at about 26 ish. Today when I was driving it suddenly went to 80psi and at idle around 76. When I turned the truck off and just turn the key on it goes up to about 43psi. But when starting up shoots back up to 80 psi. When key is off it goes back down to 0psi.

Where is the oil pressure sensor on a Silverado?

It is on the top of the block on the driver side behind the intake manifold and has a wire connector plugged in to the top of it. It is more likely the sender and not a stepper motor, especially if all the other steppers are working correctly. Plus, it is much easier to change the sensor than a stepper motor. Went and bought a sending unit.
