What to do when trunk is not forming or VLAN leaking?

To troubleshoot issues when a trunk is not forming or when VLAN leaking is occurring, proceed as follows: Use the show interfaces trunk command to check whether the local and peer native VLANs match. If the native VLAN does not match on both sides, VLAN leaking occurs.

Why do I have water in my Trunk?

Out of the thousands and thousands of water leaks I’ve repaired, tail lights are a big culprit for trunk leaks. They aren’t hard to duplicate, though. You do need to pull the interior panels or fabric out to see where it’s entering.

How can I get water out of my Trunk?

Get a sprayer on garden hose and wet the entire car from the top aka simulate rain. Then check in the trunk. If no water, spray upward from wheel wells. If you find water, you know for sure it is coming from there. Also as somebody else responded, tail lamp gaskets can dry out and let the water in.

How to check the status of a Cisco trunk link?

Cisco Catalyst switch ports use DTP by default and attempt to negotiate a trunk link. To display the status of the trunk, determine the native VLAN used on that trunk link and verify trunk establishment using the show interfaces trunk command. The following output shows that the native VLAN on one side of the trunk link was changed to VLAN 2.

Why is water leaking into the trunk of my car?

If you determine that water is leaking into the bottom of the windshield, there is no need to go any higher with the water test until after you’ve fixed this first low leak. A foul, moldy smell in the trunk may result from water getting in around the taillights or the trunk lid. If you can identify these leaks you can get them fixed.

Why is water leaking from under the glove box?

Water is leaking in from under your glove box because you either have an evaporator drain that is clogged, or you have some other leak. You’ll need to find the point of entry by either water testing your vehicle, or try unclogging the evaporator drain by using a coat hanger or compressed air up the drain tube.
