Why do headlights turn off when starting car?
If the headlights are working intermittently (i.e., turn off after you start the truck), there is a loose connection, faulty relay or switch, or other electrical problem in the headlight circuit.

On your radio go to settings. There it gives you the option to change what exactly the lights do when you turn off your car. For instance my car is set to turn off the second I open my door. I hate it but got used to it. On my previous car 2010 corolla S the lights would then off automatically once the car was turned off and on when on.
Is it bad to leave your head lights on all the time?
Does leaving the headlight on auto drain the battery when your car isn’t on. I often forget to turn on my head lights or turn them off, so if this feature works as good as it sounds, I would love to just leave it on auto for it to figure itself out. However, I don’t want to damage my battery or vehicle if it doesn’t work this way.
