The VMSpc engine/transmission monitor showed a transmission error at about the time this happened, but gave no useful information – something like “unknown component”. I also found that the transmission would not shift to neutral or reverse. VMSpc showed the shift (showed N when I pushed neutral on the transmission control panel).
