I would sure guess you 2008 has AFM as part of the 5.3L engine design. My friend’s 2007 has AFM. My 2013 doesn’t, as I have disabled it. The only visible sign AFM is working will be when it switches modes it will read 4 cyl or 8 cyl in the DIC.
