Are there any brakes on the International MaxxForce 13?
International still uses a mechanical linkeage while most others use hydraulic or air. Jake brakes (on the Maxxforce 13) are useless, they won’t even hold back an empty truck on a 6% grade. Can a Lonestar be bought with a MaxxForce?
I know a guy who bought a Lonestar with a maxxforce. It had just had a full factory drop in at the dealer and the owner traded it for a new truck. They were giving it away so he bought it. Had it “worked on” (hopefully that passes the moderators) elsewhere, and its been a fine truck.
Is the MaxxForce DT still under warranty?
Another mechanic from another district says that they do the injector pucks at 80k regardless of if it needs it right then or not. We also have another one that has an extended crank issue and is still under warranty, but they can never find anything wrong. They have the replaced the IPR valve twice, the ICP sensor, and the high pressure oil line.

I’ve noticed recently on the International website, the Trail Magazine, and the International Youtube channel news regarding the N9 and N10 line of engines. These two “new” engines appear to have replaced all the Maxxforce engines except for the DT and 7 creations. Are they really new? No, they are not.

Why does my Maxxforce Engine have a low power tip?
The main cause of this is a plugged up engine crankcase breather. A service kit is available for the MaxxForce DT diesel engines that allows mechanics to disassemble the low pressure and high pressure turbocharger on the compressor side (intake) and remove the soot buildup.
