Is the Mercedes SLK R170 a good car?
The R170 version of the SLK had a ‘facelift’ after a few years, which aesthetically was somewhat of a disaster in my opinion, but they did put a few initial problems with the design right. Notable amongst these was the steering.
Are there any issues with the SLK 230?
Around town as a commuter vehicle it is a hell of a lot better than most and seems to go from one oil change to the next on zero maintenance. The R170 series ( thats the 230 320 and 32 ) suffer panel corrosion around the wheel arches, a few small electrical issues that are fixable with basic diy knowledge and a few other things.

I have recently purchased a second hand E320 and i am now looking at a second hand SLK 230 Kompressor for my partner. It is a 1998 in Metallic blue. It has 130,000km (80,000) miles on the clock genuine and 3 owners from new. Could anyone tell me about this model please.

Is there a problem with my SLK 230 R170?
Hi I have recently had a ‘No Start No Crank’ problem with my SLK 230 R170. This happens when the key is turned on and all the dashboard lights show but the engine will not turn over. I did some research on this problem and it appears that this is a common fault with this model and there is a simple fix which can be found on You Tube
