What is an EWON Flexy?
The Ewon Flexy family is a range of industrial modular gateways that allows universal communication with varied field equipment regardless of the protocol used. It is possible to configure data acquisition & data logging, routing and more.
What is EWON device?
The Ewon device makes an outbound connecfion via UDP or HTTPS to HMS cloud based VPN servers called (Talk2M). Using the VPN client eCatcher, authorized users are able to log into their FREE Talk2M account and connect to their Ewon router anywhere in the world.
How does EWON flexy work?
The eWON Flexy primarily provides Remote Access and Data Services to users. Once the field devices are connected to the router’s interface, the user’s transfer medium (LAN, WiFi, etc.) is used to relay data to the internal firewall. The firewall acts as a barrier for all malicious attempts into the system.

How do you use eWON?
- 1.1 Download and install eCatcher. 1.2 Create your account by clicking on “Create a Free+ Account”.
- 2.1 Download and install eBuddy. 2.2 Connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to the eWON’s LAN port No.
- 2.5 Launch your browser and target the eWON’s LAN IP. The default username & password are both “adm”.

3.1 As your computer is connected to Internet, launch eCatcher. The status of your eWON should be “Online”. Simply highlight your eWON and click on the “Connect” button. 3.2 Once connected, if you have plugged an Ethernet device in your eWON COSY’s LAN port, you should be able to ping its IP address.

The data acquisition process is built around a tagged database in which each tag is associated with an I/O server. The Ewon Flexy is able to perform data acquisition with the following protocols: Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Uni-Telway, EtherNet/IP, DF1, FINS TCP, FINS Hostlink, ISO TCP, PPI, MPI, Profibus, Mitsubishi FX, Hitachi EH, ASCII.
How many timestamp points are in Ewon database?
Ewon stores tag data values (+ timestamp) in its internal database (up to 1,000,000 timestamp points) for statistical analysis and later review (historical logging) or to analyze recent trends (real-time logging). The DataMailbox service of Talk2M is an online data buffer that allows the easy retrieval of Ewon gateway’s historical data.
