What is the p21dd code on my GMC?
2013 gmc, 16,370 miles, cel on with P21dd code and is currently at dealership for def heater element replacement. Vehicle has been there since April 1st and waiting for part to show up the week of the 14th from gm. So my vehicle will be there over two weeks and not very happy. Is it under warrenty yet?

The latest part to fail was the reductant tank heater (DEF Heater). Upon cold start the check engine light came on with code P21DD. After a little reading I learned that this can result in “Limp Mode”. I was in the middle of nowhere in Northern Wyoming. Not cool! I drove down to Denver and replaced it that week.
Why does my check engine light say p21dd?
I have a 2013 Duramax that of course has the stupid DEF, my check engine light came on Monday and Orielly’s said the code it was giving was P21DD but there was no explanation…does anyone know what this means? Thank you! Do you know how to go about fixing it?

What is the p21dd code on a 2013 Sierra 2500HD?
I had that code come up under warranty also, long story short the dealer had it 3 seperate times and it ended up being a leaking urea injector…wtf I have a 2013 Sierra 2500HD. I just bought it with 125,000 miles on it, and it threw the P21DD code as well. It was about 28F this morning.

How long is the p21dd covered under warranty?
Drained tank, removed tank. Replaced reservoir. Installed and filled tank. Used scan tool to command all heaters on-heater #1 is operating in spec again. Cleared code. Just wondering is this the “special warranty” I saw on the paperwork when I bought my truck used? I have about 76000kms on it now and no bumper to bumper left.
