Took my truck to the dealership for them to fix. It is supposedly fixed. The problem they say was the ignition switch inside the steering column. They say that the voltage was misfiring or misreading and not sending a good signal for it to enage into gear.

2003 duramax, when clod it will start drive for 30min to hour and shut it off will not start untill it cooled off for about 2-3 hours at the shop they replaced the fule pump with 2006 modle for $150,the pump for the 2003 was $650 is this right,is this the same pump??

I am hoping someone will have an answer to what is going on with my 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Durmax truck. When I go to shift into gear (reverse or drive) on the dash a message appears “Range Shift Inhibited,” and the truck does not engage into gear. I have to put it back into park and shift into gear again.

Came home and washed the truck. after checking the NSBU switch check the linkage. NSBU connecters are very well sealed form the factory. they have silcone inside the connector. they are very hard to disconnect. you could have bend or kinked shift linkage.
